ROYAL BOTANIC GARDENS

Instead of doing our groceries like responsible adults should, D and I decided to go for a walk in the Royal Botanic Gardens. Who likes spending the weekend doing chores, anyway? The weather turned out to be scorching - which was great, but we were unprepared (no hat, no water!).

Even without a map of the gardens, we managed to stumble upon some really nice feature gardens like the fernery, the succulent garden and the rose garden (my favourite!). Will have to return one day for the herb garden! Here is a selection of the photographs I took of the plants and things that caught my eye.

The Fenery has some amazing filtered light.

Perfect spot to sit and read a book. Or take a nap.

An Australian White Ibis (or what I like to call the Aussie stork!)

Such cute cacti

A Hydrangea flower - quite possibly my most favourite flower!

Another perfect spot...

This rose had the most divine scent!!! I wish I had a bush for myself.

And last, but not the least... my favourite rose picture!

If only was a Botanist instead of a Speech Pathologist...
